Bartley Thanksgiving

Had a nice Thanksgiving at the Edmans home. Marge and Jim Edman are good friends with David's parents. Their son and daughter inlaw (Jamie and Marsha) live with them in their home. Jamie was the bishop when David served with him almost twelve years ago. We had Christopher when David severed with him as his second counselor in the Cordelia ward.

We did this last year but we hosted Thanksgiving at our home. We decided to get together again because they had none of their married family coming home for the holiday. Both families enjoy each others company. I forgot my camera but I'm hoping I can get some form David's father.

David and I went out shopping for Christmas in an old mining town up above Sacramento Saturday morning. Was a fun area by the name of Sutter Creek. May sound familiar a lot of history in the little town. We found a few things and enjoyed having lunch there also.

Matthew Turned Eleven

Last Wednesday November 12th was Matthew's eleventh birthday we didn't not do much that day because Christopher was every sick. We had planned to all go out for pizza with grandmother and grandfather Bartley that night was sure we were going to stay in that night and just order in pizza with out grandparents.
But the decision was made Matthew needed his special day so Matthew, dad and I went has planned and pick up grandparents. Went and had pizza at Mary's Pizza Shack. Johnathan stayed home with Christopher will the rest of us went. Was a nice time with Matthew he entertained all of us. Grandfather wondered when he would stop talking, his mouth kept going all the way from their house to Mary's Pizza Shack.

The weekend before his birthday David took Matthew and two of his friend to the Black Chasm Caverns a cave that is known for it's helicites, thin straw like twisted formations.
The following picture is a formation of one of those types of helicites, they name it Mo Shoe the dragon from the Movie Mulon looks cool.

Halloween last week

Matthew came up with his own custom well
actually, Johnathan was this same character
two years ago at Wal-Mart. Had bought the shirt and when he washed it after wearing a few times he gave it to Matthew.
The chartacter is called the Punisher a Marvel character that is one of Matthew's favorites.
I had fun drawing facial hair on him and coloring with temporary black hair coloring spray.

Mathew with two of his friends, Grandma thought RJ and Savannah would like seeing Uncle Matthew with the Ginger Bread man.

Matthew has a great eye

It has been some time but here is a picture Matthew took for a school project his class is doing in the fifth grade. I'm not sure what they are going to be doing with it other than making a hard bound Photo Book to be auction off at a fundraiser for the school. He took the picture down by the creek next to your house. Matthew likes to go there with his friends and hang out, there is a rope swing near this area. We think he did a great job of taking this shot .
Fall baseball is almost over we have one game tonight and then the last game on Saturday afternoon.
Soccer though will continue an other three weekends.
Hope we can get some projects done before the cold weather hits out side.

Busy Soccer and Baseball Parents

Hello friends and family. The time has past some from they last entry on this blog. The boys have been keeping us busy with soccer very weekend and fall ball.
Matthew is once again on the Eagles with his same coach from past years. They have played two games and lost both of them. They start off a head and we think we are going to win then the other team get a head by one or two points by the time the game is over.

Christopher is playing Fall ball again this year but is playing in a different division, he is playing in the major division. Fall ball they don't have practice during the week just two games Thursday and Saturday. He is playing under the name of Arizona Diamond Backs. I believe they won their first game but for fall ball they don't really keep score.

Two Weekends ago I had the opportunity of going to Time Out for Women held in Sacramento. It was an amazing experience and looking forward to the next opportunity I have of going to another next year.

Sunday I was given a new calling in the church, I'm now the second counselor in the Stake Primary.

School Began

Christopher and Matthew started school this week it was a little tiring all week because we had to get up around 6 o'clock every morning to get Christopher to the bus. Today was the first day he went by himself David has been walking him to the light at the corner next to the Elementary School where the bus picks up at 7:05.

Both boys are enjoying their teacher's and having not problem getting up in the morning, not like their Mom and Dad.

We had company Wednesday my Sister Annette and her husband Charlie stayed with us until Thursday we had fun talking of old times and hearing of what is going on with the family and the news that each of us are going to be new grandparents. Yes you hared right Jennifer is going to have her third due March 31st. We hear RJ is very excited.

Next week I start back working lunch and noon duty at the Elementary. I did this later in the year last year and they asked if I would come back for this school year. No picture taken this week. But the boys have not changed much in a couple of weeks.

Summer trips are over

We are back from all the trips we took the last two weeks has I said last time we went to Sacramento and Christopher went to baseball camp. He enjoyed the time on the field with the River Cats players and learning new tips for baseball.

This is the view from the hotel we stayed in Sacrament so we didn't have to get up early each morning. We parked the car and could walk to the ball park which is just over the bridge in the picture and took Matthew around old town and saw some sites.

The first morning we took Matthew to the replica of the Nina which Christopher Columbus sailed. There are four people who sail this ship at a time all over the world. They are volunteer's and change out all but the cook who is a 80 year old women who has been sailing on the ship of 8 years.

Old town Sacramento is filled with many old time world eras to see like this one room school house. Matthew volunteered for this photo of school teacher.

On the last day of Baseball camp we went to a River Cats game they won the game.

Last week we took the last of our summer trips before school starts this Monday the eighteenth. Took no pictures because I always forgot the camera. We spent a very relaxing time at the mountain condo and had fun swimming and riding the train in the old town of James town. Back to the work of cleaning house and getting the boys ready for next week.
