Creepy Halloween Food

We had a Ward Halloween potluck Friday evening.
I had been looking at dishes to make all the week before. Was going to make Jennifer's annual Halloween pumpkin dinner, when I heard on the radio when driving Christopher to school of a Halloween meat made as a cut off hand.

The meat loaf is surrounded with mash potatoes. They had a contest for the most creepy and spooky, I won for the meat category and the over all prize. I had a lot of fun making this dish.

Update on the Family

David had his surgery on August 25th , he has bounced back very well and is slowly going back to work for a half day of work four days a week.

Matthew just had his first soccer game of the season yesterday. They lost 3 to 5 to the Lions.

Jennifer and her family are living in Virginia and loving the new adventure.

Margaret and Johnathan are still working in Vacaville her at Raley's and him at Wal-Mart.

Margaret is living in an apartment in Vacaville and Johnathan resides at home.

Christopher is working hard in eighth grade and has given up any sports activities for the first quarter of school.

I'm back working at the elementary school two hours a day for lunch and yard duty. It's a nice break in the day but sometimes hard to fine the hours in the day to get the work done at home . don't see how mothers work full time with children in school.

Day Trip Free Weekend

Last weekend we took a day trip with the boys and a neighborhood friend.

Christopher is going to a baseball camp all this week up at Sonoma State. So David decide we should take a ride up to the Collage to see where is is so if by any chance I might have to drive him up there during the week.

While up north we had heard of a Petrified Forest near Calistoga. We went to check it out.

Matthew kicks to see if hard has rock.

Matthew ouch! looks like wood but it is hard as stone.

This is the petrified wood before cleaning process.

David saw this from around the turn in the path and almost freaked out thought is was a real miner and his mule.

Great shot of the area and the beautiful scenery of the petrified wood.

Queen of the forest California Coastal Redwood. Matthew and friend left of tree.

Boys where getting bored so David gave them something to do.

Hear, see and speak on evil.

Carvings can be seen trough out the trail this was one of my favorites.

This is Old Faithful of California , David almost missed the first shot of water Matthew going to find him.

Not as huge has Old Faithful in Yellowstone but nice to see, it goes
off more often, every ten or fifteen minutes.

Time to go boys tried and ready to go home.

Sunday I had a surprise when I arrived at church, Jennifer and the family came in for Idaho.

They surprised the whole family yours and Jared's. Sorry but David and the two younger boys where up enjoying the condo in the mountains, poor Grand- dad has not seen the new grandson.
But for these pictures and birth week shots.
Was a fun weekend saw Jennifer and family and had a nice lunch with Margaret and spent Monday with Johnathan and took him to the movies for an early birthday, he turned twenty six yesterday May 26th. We had only the time to take him for a late birthday dinner that night for Christopher's team is in the play off games. Christopher played his best game last night made two good hits and scored twice for his team. They won the game last night against the Cubs 10 to 9. He got the game ball for his two hits and many good stops at second base. We play them this Saturday again and hope to go on to win for a chance to play for the championship game.

Spring time weather

Spring is coming, the sun is out and the weather couldn't be nicer. Looking forward to the arrival of your fourth grand child. I leave next week for Idaho to be some help to Jennifer who is having their third child a boy. I remember the third child being an adjustment for us we had two sets of eyes and two sets of hands even amounts for two little ones and now you are a little out numbered. Not to give you something to stress about Jennifer.

That is why when we hear that she was to give birth right at the crunch time for David. I told him there was not way I was staying home and he would just have to make the time to handle the boy school and make arrangements to work around their schedule with me out of town.
Johnathan is around and can help out, we tried to convinces him to take some of his paid vacation or sick time he has but he would not agree.

Christopher's first baseball game is the Tuesday before I leave and the last day of the month.
I was talking with the couch and he will be playing has their third baseman. The team is a Major league team and it is his first year playing at that level. They play under the name of the Astros.

Matthew and Christopher just received their third quarter grades and we are every pleased they are both doing great in school. Christopher has a 3.571 GPA , he tells us he wants to go to BYU. He is also helping his father do tax work with preparing the papers for David to enter the work into the computer. David may have a son to carry on the tax practice.

All Snowed IN

We decided to go up to the mountain condo for the Presidents Day Weekend even though we knew it was going to be a stormy weekend.

Believe it or not the weekend before there was no snow on the ground.

We shovel snow off the back deck the Saturday we arrived and the boys had fun playing in it. Below is a picture of the two of them goofing around in the snow they dug out of the side of the cabin wall.

Baseball Time Is Here

Baseball season is approaching soon. I am baseball taxi Mom once more. Christopher is back at playing baseball. He is one level higher in the league, playing on a majors teams the Astros. Coaches are very hard core put do know we have other family members to care for so they only have practice one and a half hours three days a week. When the full season begins they say it will be cut to two days a week.

Family doing well, busy with school and David starting tax season.
Looking forward of the new grandson in early April and David will be juggling tax season crunch and being a single parent while I'm in Idaho helping Jennifer.

Just hared from the other party's Insurance and they have finally expected the fault of the accident, we can now get that behind us and feel more at ease. We were thinking of having to hire on your attorney friend in the ward.

Hope this will help me have a better night sleep.

Sickness in 2009

It is 2009 and we had the joy of having Jennifer and the two children stay with us this last week. It was fun having them just wished some of us didn't get the sickness still going back and for worth through the children. Christopher came home Friday after school with the high fever and Saturday and today he has a bad cough lingering. Jennifer and children left Saturday to go back home to Idaho.

Today I spoke in two wards which is part of my new calling in the church. It was high counsel Sunday and I spoke in my home ward and Third ward, glad that that assignment is over. My calling is in the Stake Primary Presidency and we are assigned to speak with the High counselor on a signed Sunday's. I believe I am free for an other three months.
